How to use the extension

Understand scan, review, sync, authentication, local results, and the extension’s privacy boundaries.

The normal extension flow

  • Open a supported webpage.
  • Open the popup or side panel.
  • Run Scan and wait for the capture to finish.
  • Review duplicate rows and missing fields.
  • Export locally or sign in and Sync to OwlReach.
  • Choose a group during sync when you want the records organized immediately.

Guest versus signed-in use

Guest mode is local-first. It lets you inspect captured records and export a limited CSV containing company/name, email when available, one phone, and website/domain. Signed-in sync sends the complete structured payload, including additional phones, emails, locations, registrations, social links, technologies, contacts, revenue, and raw source context.

Authentication and expired sessions

Password sign-in creates a time-limited extension session. Token sign-in uses a token created under Dashboard → API and extension. If the account is inactive, deleted, revoked, or expired, the extension clears the saved session and returns to the default signed-out view so you can sign in again.

When data looks wrong

Repeated sync is fill-missing: existing populated values are preserved, while new phones, emails, contacts, and source details are merged. If the source page has a generic label such as Contact instead of a company name, OwlReach rejects that generic value rather than replacing a better saved name.
