How to track sent mail

Use the campaign report, Mail log, and delivery attempt details to understand what happened to every recipient.

Read the Mail log

Open Dashboard → Mail log. This page records every delivery attempt, not just successful messages. Use the status cards for a quick count, then filter by recipient, campaign, status, or date range.
  • Successful means the configured SMTP transport accepted the message for delivery.
  • Failed means the attempt ended with an error after the job’s retry policy or a terminal failure.
  • Skipped means OwlReach deliberately did not send, commonly because the recipient is suppressed or has not passed the required email check.
  • In progress means a worker is currently processing the attempt.

Inspect a failure

Click the small i icon next to a failed status. The popover contains the recorded provider or application response, such as an authentication error, invalid recipient, timeout, or connection failure. Correct the SMTP or recipient problem before retrying.

Understand opens and clicks

Open and click tracking is recipient-level. OwlReach adds a tracking pixel and rewrites supported absolute links. Email clients may block pixels, preload them, or strip tracking, so open and click figures are useful signals rather than guaranteed human actions.
